Hi,
I have been craving a game where I have to build a well oiled public transit network. I want to fiddle with timetables to create good interchange connections, I want to mull over if something should get a direct connection, I want my commuter train have a scheduled wait time in some station to let the high speed train through. It's important to me that the vehicle speeds are realistic so that a bus line doesn't take 5 ingame hours to get through half the city. I should also be able to place infrastructure myself.
Bonus points if - variance in demand throughout the day is a thing - it's a tycoon game with money involved - freight is also there (probably only applies if the scale of the game is not just city-wide)
Not important: - scale (do I build a pt system for a city or for a country) - graphic fidelity (seriously, I would be okay with super abstract graphics like MiniMetro)
I have tried - Cities in Motion ages ago, but the game is not designed for realistic vehicle speeds. If you set the time scaling to something resembling real time the gameplay loop is way too slow because you can't speed up enough. - various train tycoon games but they usually don't care about schedules etc - Cities Skyline but I don't think even a mod can salvage that (not sure though)
I think I saw some older A-Train game being pretty close to what I want but I don't remember which one (not the new one) or how to get my hands on it...
Any other suggestions?
