RPG with an epic story and conclusion

I'd like to avoid being spoiled if at all possible, but I'm looking for an RPG/JRPG that has something akin to an epic fantasy or space opera style story.

For comparison, kind of like a story with a Wheel of Time conclusion, or Legend of the Galactic Heroes. The way Sanderson makes a lot of his climactic battles feel exciting. The end of Mass Effect 1 comes to mind for me too for a game.

The platform or age of the game doesn't concern me. As long as it's an RPG or JRPG with a great story and a fantastic conclusion, I'll play through an entire series for that pay off
