Need help choosing a console: PS5 or X-Box Series X

I’ve been an avid gamer for years, and I got rid of my PS4 last year and traded it for a switch bc I was doing a lot of traveling. I’m finally getting around to selling my switch accessories, and I need a new console to replace it. My younger brother has a PS5, and my cousin has a series X, and they both look good as far as quality and frame rate go, however I’ve not played on them any. Which console is better in the long run, and is it worth buying over MSRP if that’s all I can find?
