Hello everyone. I am working on a paper for college about waste from consoles getting upgraded mid generation, like PS4 to PS4 Slim to PS4 Pro.
The basis of my paper is that they should make upgradeable consoles, like PC desktops, where console players can upgrade components that they want to, so that they do not have to get rid of their old console in order to get a new one. This would cut down on waste from consoles being thrown out because one bad component or other and because the consumer can upgrade one part and not the whole console if needed.
I cannot seem to locate information about how much waste is generated because of these issues and want to try and include this information in my first draft of the paper. Thank you in advance if you have the information.
