Apple's Metal API has made it difficult for developers to port their games to MacOS in the first place, and of course the introduction of ARM for their desktop chips have added more difficulty. However, with the creation of fleshed out games for mobile platforms (Genshin, Wild Rift, PUBG, Cod Mobile), there is a genuine ability to make ARM gaming happen.
Add to this, buying something like an M1 Mac Mini at $600-$700 dollars would bring lots of gaming potential at a much lower pricepoint, giving apple a great salespitch, while families could potentially buy something like an M1 iMac, and the kids could completely use it for gaming.
We have seem Apple throw their warchest of money around when they really want to make something happen (Apple TV anyone?), and I would wager that there are many people would vastly prefer MacOS to Windows or Linux. Apple has the ability to make it happen, and I would be 100% on board switching.
