I'm a lefty, hardcore PC gamer, I need a headset with the mic on the right side.

It doesn't have to be a "gaming" specific headset, as long as I can hook it up to a PC, I'm good. Broadcast headsets, aviation headsets, military, whatever. There's gotta someone with this problem ...

I'm willing to pay for build quality, as I've gone through 4 or 5 headsets this past year. I've currently got a Rocketfish Headset (2 months old, already dying), have also used three sets of Logitech Digital Precision into the ground. I've been searching like a maniac, looked at hundreds of headsets ...

While I've got you here, does anyone think the ~$200 for the Astra A40's is worth it?

Things that are very important:

RIGHT side microphone

PC compatible

Build quality

Removable/detachable/replacable cables

FWIW - I don't care about 5.1 or 7.1 - regular stereo is fine.
