All I see are threads full of people screaming about the performance/lack of video settings on PC. That's definitely shitty, and those who can't play because of it have the right to be pissed. (Hopefully id will redeem themselves a bit with patches...) However, how about some thoughts on the game itself? There's gotta be some others out there enjoying it?

I've only sunk about 3 hours into it so far, but it'd say its pretty damn awesome. Its not breaking any new ground, but I really don't think it was supposed to aside from the whole mega-texture thing. The controls and shooting mechanics are solid as a rock, and the weapons feel great. I'm enjoying the RPG-lite crafting and upgrading as well. The game is just fun, plain and simple.
