Hi all,
So, I'm sure everybody here knows that Coronavirus hasn't been an easy time for anyone. It's been isolating, it's been anxiety inducing, and overall it's been really difficult. I recently turned 25 and faced a bit of a 'holy crap' moment - I went to university seven years ago and I can't quite believe where the time has gone. I'm studying for a PhD and will likely end up in well paid, 'respected' academic job. I suspect Coronavirus has an effect on the way I'm feeling at the moment.
Now, onto the gaming side of things. I'm a huge fan of games... I always have done, and I always will. Some of my favourite franchises are Pokemon, Mario, ARPG's, Elder Scrolls etc. When I turned 25, I started to have a little internal freak out because I feel that my youth is on its way out. Before this, I thought it was completely normal to love Pokemon, anime, manga etc and that nobody would judge me for that. Now, the older I get (and the older everyone gets), the more people will judge and the more 'wrong' it feels to love franchises like Pokemon. It really freaked me out that I'm getting 'old' and that I only have a few years left before people start seeing me in a strange way. Can anybody empathise with this?
Look forward to hearing from you all!
