My 7 year old brother just got, a switch with Mario Odyssey. He asked me to beat a level for him, so I did and gave it back before the boss. He tries several times and fails and tells me to beat it for him. I tell him no, the point of the game if for “him” to play not me. He starts crying about how he’s only going to fail, and he can’t do it. I give him the “you have to try speech” we have all heard a hundred times but can’t convince him.

I believe this was the first time he’s ever gotten the “it’s not about failing” speech. And for the life of me I can’t think of any to quote.

Tldr: do you know any games or cartoons with the “if you fail try again” speech to show him.

P.S. i mean really crying. Like I’m a failure tears. That hurt my soul
