I honestly don't care at all about the awards, speeches and nominations. The game of the year is subjective as with all the other awards.
I feel the same way about all award shows. I don't watch the Oscars at all. I really don't care what the oscars considers the best movie of the year. At least with the game awards they have game reveals. That's literally the only reason I tune in. But, for some reason, people want to reduce the game reveals and want longer, drawn out , boring speeches from game developers who don't care about you. Why?
They deserve their moment in the spotlight for their hard work and to say otherwise is absolutely stupid. These people work in cubicles and in offices most days so seeing all these people celebrate them and their teams means a lot to them
