multiplayer - a game that encourages cooperation or communication, where your playing with actual people without feeling like you are amongst NPC's the whole time. For example, you might play Destiny 2, but no one is going to be talking unless it's a raid or amongst super sweaty PVP'ers. The game just doesn't feel alive despite having around 70,000 players at peak hours.
comradery - There is a feeling that you accomplished something as a group, something involving teamwork, where you're not just joining a game and not one word is spoken and everyone is kind of doing their own thing.
active player base - An actual active player base. You are very aware that other humans are playing the game. You might run into other people randomly who aren't NPC's. Either through matchmaking or because it's an open world. Everyone is very engaging either because the game coerces such behavior or because people are just like that in such a game.
Should I give up my search and go play rust?
