Ok so this game isn't very well known, so I'll describe what I like about it and what I want in another rpg.
Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass is a really good turn based rpg. It has like, I think 7 or 8 party members that you can switch out, that all have their own normal roles like magic attacker or tank, but the main character basically has the final fantasy 5 / bravely default job system encounters are random but at a higher level than the enemy, you can skip the encounter, so it's never overwhelming with the amount of encounters.
It's very out there, dream like, and sometimes psychedelic like the earthbound series. It gets really dark, and even has quite a few parts where it becomes a bit of a horror game.
Every part of the game is incredibly unique, from a cute happy animal town, to a continent full of sentient instruments, a freaky undead toy graveyard, an 8 bit fantasy land, there's so many unique locations and none of them feel unnecessary, they all fit in perfectly like pieces of a puzzle, great world all around.
There's a lot of little details and side content, and none of it feels tacked on, there's loads of optimal dungeons and bosses, extra quests, extra transformations, cute little things that don't really mean much but just make the game feel more alive, you get idea.
Everything about this game is fun, satisfying, or hits you in the feels, and I can't find any experiences just like it, even Mother 3 falls a bit short in my own personal opinion. Somehow this game fits all of my desires for an RPG like it was made for me, I can't imagine any other rpg fitting my tastes more, and I can't find any other games that hit the same spot, any recommendations?
