You couldāve guessed it from the title but Iām talking about Theon, seriously does anyone care about his plot in season 8? I feel like the bulk of season 7 was getting rid of characters that donāt fit in the fantasy story of the living vs the dead. In example, the sand snakes, Littlefinger, Olenna etc...
Many of my friends that Iāve spoken to have openly admitted that Theon canāt be redeemed. They have a point, if his brutal torture and Sansaās rescue didnāt redeem him for you then honestly nothing will. For me I think it made me feel bad for him but then after feeling bad you remember all the troubles that Theon has made for the Starks and for Winterfell. I get it he has had an identity crisis but at the end of the day it was still his decision, it wasnāt as if someone like Ramsey was going to torture him if he didnāt do it.
Lastly, heās going to save Yara, who is a decent character but I mean really? Like if Yara were to die in season 8 in the grand scheme of things...who cares? I was a little disappointed that we didnāt get to see more Euron in season 7 they basically cut him off after episode 3 and I was also disappointed that thrones really hasnāt lived to its reputation the last 2 seasons of āanything can happenā and āitāll break your heartā so maybe this season 8 Theon storyline will help develop Euron as an antagonist and he will kill Theon and Yara?
Who knows, but Iām curious to hear your thoughts.
