I don't have many complaints about the writing as the majority of people do. All our characters have been fully developed and in previous seasons many of the character arcs would be played out in scenes when they are journeying to their next destination. I don't care about the teleportation because we really don't need to see they're journey we just need to see what happens. Alt Shift X put it best in his most recent video saying "although a lot of this might not make any sense, it is still very fun to watch" (paraphrasing)
My main disappointment in this season is how it has left its former style of unpredictability and has entered a pure fantasy war. I really miss all the events in the war of the five kings. I miss how there were many belligerents all fighting for one prize and the story of deception, pride, honor, backstabbing, strategies, tactics, and so on and so forth. Now with this fight against the dead all it has really turned into is just a one sided hero vs villain war. One sided as in we only see one side of the war, we can only root for one side of the war, and that the hero will face insurmountable odds will probably come close to death a couple times but ultimately win. The Night King isn't a politician, we don't see his scenes of strategy and deception. His army is an army of dead, it's not people who have been recruited to fight for something they believe in or the hundreds of reason why an individual can go to war, I mean I don't really have to explain that they are dead and have no purpose to fight.
I think mainly this last episode made me realize that I may not enjoy the next turn in the story as I did the previous. Everything prior in this season was everything I enjoyed. For example Tyrion's political and war strategies, Jon uniting his people together for one cause, Cersei (and Jaime) tricking Daenerys' armies to make the battle an even playing field and so on and so on.
tl;dr I do enjoy season 7, it has been action packed and has kept me curious, however this past episode has made me realize a fight against an army of dead people is not as entertaining or what I enjoy about the great Game of Thrones
