Okay so as an avid book reader and more recently a series watcher I have only had my theory strengthened by the latest episodes. Bran's character exists to change the past. In particular his ability to call out to characters in the past and get some form of reaction from them is definite foreshadowing i.e. the butterfly effect.
Is it that much of a stretch to think that if he can get a reaction from characters in the past then as he gets stronger he will be able to communicate more with them?
Picture this: Bran talks to Ned Stark at the Godswood when he is cleaning his sword of the blood of the decapitated nights watchman. "Don't leave Winterfell Father, it fucks up our whole family." So Ned never leaves which means he is still alive, Rob Stark is inevitably still alive and Sansa and Jon both get their wish that they never left Winterfell as per S6E04 memory scene.
Can Martin take this shit to the next level? Discuss
