Does anyone else feel that were it not for the incest, these two genuinely deserved one another? Both were ultimately good people at heart, and with all the suffering they each went through, I think they deserved a partner who was just as dedicated to them and doing the right thing. I know Dany went mad, not here to debate whether or not Jon should've killed her, but that storyline could've been done so much better if they had more time, and if we really got to see the effect it was having on those around her and who cared about her.
Maybe it would've been even more tragic if it were drawn out, Dany slowly losing everyone around her who cares for her and who she cares for, leaving only Jon, who is stuck in the one environment he would struggle to protect her, the Game of Thrones. A truly good man, watching as the women he loves descends further into madness and faces threats he doesn't know how to combat, and a woman who believes she alone has the power to shape the world, watching as everyone she loves is taken. How he tries to learn how to protect her while she jealously guards him from any and all threats. Eventually, she sees everything as a threat, and the mad queen emerges in full, and Jon is once again left with his choice. Stay be her side, or do what is right for the realm.
I don't know. I just loved these two character and was so happy when they got together, and it just feels so wrong that they couldn't at least enjoy being with someone who they deserved. What do y'all think?
