Why did they change the hound face reveal at the the tourney?

I’ve been reading the books after having seen the show, and I noticed that, in the show, little finger, I believe, explained what happened to his burner face.
However, I just got to the books version and it was the hound himself who told Sansa as he was escorting her back.
Does anyone have any reason why they changed this? Because it seemed more impactful to hear it from the mouth of the hound himself rather than some stranger. It made it so Sansa could see him as more than just a brute, in my opinion.
