Excuse the hot take, but the sound quality on these albums is all over the place, unfortunately, mostly bad. Just terrible mixing overall. I am notice it especially when those songs come on my Spotify shuffles in the middle of typical music and it's like night and day compared to practically any other song that's plays before and after it.
A few notable examples:
Dinosaur Lazerfight: Doesn't start getting bad until the chorus but i swear they put EVERYTHING; vocals, instruments, effects all on the same level. Blaring keyboards make Danny extra hard to hear with the drum beat bass making it even more difficult as well. The treble on the keyboards in general make it harsh on my ears at least.
It's Dangerous to Go Alone: Another track with the bass muddling Arin's vocal's in general with the flute backing track turned so aggressively high it becomes distracting. Chorus has a snare track that makes Danny difficult to understand too.
Attitude City: Technically a NSP track but this one is almost unlistenable. The reverb added to Danny mixed with the snare track again make the verses leading up to the chorus sound like mush. Added to that music tracks that are almost randomly assigned different levels, barely there keyboard meets overloud percusion. Then the chorus itself has zero impact as the hook is way too quiet compared to the HEY chant.
There are even more examples and yes, it's a comedy album but at least Weird Al and Jon LaJoie actually have professional mixing for their retail albums. I'm sure they have the resources and the demand to release remasters with zero issue and they would only benefit from it. The music isn't even bad but whenever i listen in my car or on decent headphones, they always instaskips unfortunately..... or maybe I'm just crazy?
