Post Body

I have general coding experience and, as far as game development goes, I mostly have experience with C# in Unity3D. I have some knowledge on basic coding for development, but have only successfully created single player games.

Every time I attempt to create a multiplayer game, I become stuck and unsure how to move forward. Using the free FishNet asset on the Unity Asset Store, I was able to follow tutorials on how to get multiple clients into the same game/server. However, when I did more digging about Multiplayer, specifically Observers, I became quite confused and couldn’t find much material to learn from (or tutorials in general) on the matter.

Additionally, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to create lobby menus where people join a lobby, then the game may start where the clients’ characters are loaded. To go with this, I wanted to create a game where each client may “choose a character” and play as different characters, but I could now figure this out.

If it seems like I don’t have any clue about multiplayer yet, it’s because I don’t. However, I would really like to learn and I am hoping that maybe someone can point me in the right direction since my research thus far has not been fruitful.

Thank you
