Hi All;
I'm a beginner taking my first steps into game development. I'm still trying to get my bearings and focus on what I'm learning. I've landed on Unity for now as it seems pretty flexible. And I have an idea for a project that would have an interface something like Hearthstone, which I know used Unity.
My idea isn't a CCG, but I'm picturing an interface with cards, and a table. But I'm so new at this that I'm not sure where to start with that. So, my questions:
- It looks like a 2D game, but is it? Some of the animations imply 3D, like cards flipping over.
- Is the perspective on the table done with transforms on 2D objects? Or is there movement on the Z access with flat 2D assets?
Any advice on the right track to head down would be much appreciated. I'm not thinking I'm going to make a world class art design, but I would like to aim for a little more pizzaz than purely 2D flat images on a flat background.
