Hi there.
Soon I plan on beginning a fun, little side project in developing a game. Part of my game will be full 3D graphics, with more modern game design elements (at least that's the hope).
However, I'm planning on making part of my game inspired by 8-bit and 16-bit 2D games. I want to know, is Unreal Engine possible/capable of developing such games?
I understand some other engines might be better for 2D games. But I want to know if Unreal Engine is specifically only for 3D modern games, or if I'm able to utilise it for a game that's going to begin with more retro design elements?
