As a long-time games industry programmer, I have worked on networking multiple times... even on MMOs. But I've been doing other stuff for about 8 months now and next week I have an interview doing low-level network coding in C . I don't even know what I should be refreshing.
So, I started with this: I threw together a quick C TCP server and a client and got them talking (took about 45 minutes) and formatting the data. Then I setup a gateway and had it route to my server from the client and back... another 45 minutes or so. I thought about setting up a zone server and an account server and setting up login, but that is a lot of work... even if I stub most of it out.
What else should I be refreshing? (I feel kind dumb asking this question but right now, I am looking to nail this interview and somehow, I still feel rusty). Thanks ahead.
