Hello all. Been a while. So I am working on a new idea for a game mechanic (though perhaps it might end up being a hack of something) that is based around honor and societies/characters adhering to a code (read: cultures that are very driven by the tenets, mores, and values that have been passed down through time).
My char-gen concept revolves posing questions to players about their characters' beliefs. The questions will pose 'yes', 'no', 'depends', and 'no opinion' responses that will grant various options for characters to latter choose from for boosts in various areas. The subjects -- broadly speaking (by which I meant very broad because I'm not looking to have a massively-deep litany of questions that takes hours to complete) -- that I have for those questions are as follows (feedback welcome):
Family, Authority, Violence, Relationships, Education, Useful Arts (crafting and creative arts), Ethics/Morals, Wealth, Death/Afterlife, & Cultural Exchange
Any thoughts on any other broad categories? Some of these -- at least conceptually for me -- do include other, more nuanced discussions.
