I'm almost finished making an entirely new difficulty for my already released game. My game costs £4.99 and already has a decent review score on steam (91% positive). features of this new difficulty include
- both the player and enemies deal a lot more damage
- Smarter enemy AI
- weapon quality and durability feature
- Limb dismemberment, and you cant get them back
- only a few checkpoints throughout the game
- Levelling system is gone
- Enemies don't drop much (if any) loot
- Player must eat and drink to maintain strength and accuracy
I'm gonna charge £0.49 for the difficulty, since I want to reinvest the money to my next project that I'm working on. Plus this could bring some old players back to the game. However, some might not like the paid DLC. My question is whether or not this is a good idea. I would benefit from this and it could better my new project but I'm aware of the potential backlash
Edit: Okay I'm gonna make a full expansion to my game instead. It wont be too difficult and I can acquire the funds to my new project while not tanking my review score
