If a GameCube game boots up and lets you load a save file will the whole game work?

I just bought a copy of twilight princess for really cheap because the guy said he couldn’t get it to work past the start screen. However, when I popped it into my GameCube it worked perfect. I started a new save and got past the first cutscene before I assumed I was in the clear. Is it still possible some parts of the game won’t load and I should get it resurfaced?
