My first Gameboy Macro mod didn't go very well. Any advice?

I was attempting this mod for the first time and ran into this issue after I soldered the resistor into place. I've tried remounting the resistor and reseating the ribbon cable many times. adjusting the potentiometer helped but I wasn't getting much past what I have. It was my first time soldering so it may be the issue and there were some burns on the motherboard, but it looked like it might've not touched any traces. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it repairable or cooked?
