I (28F) plan on moving to the Houston area once Iām 30. I keep going back and forth between Houston proper and Galveston, and canāt seem to make up my mind.
One thing that concerns me a bit (and matters to me perhaps the most) is the median age of Galvestonās population, which is apparently 39.9 years. I know thatās not much older than I will be once I actually move, but itās significantly older than Houston and anywhere Iāve ever lived. I just donāt want to move there only to find out that everyone there is already coupled up and settled in their lives. I definitely want my new city to have a lively dating scene.
Any opinions on the dating scene in Galveston and/or Houston?
The dating scene is terrible from my experience. Iām 31/m from the island. I had to to a distant relationship in Houston for a few years to finally settle down and build a family with. Too many people spend there life in the bars every single night. Most people work in the industry and get off late and are already downtown and you have āfriendsā or āco-workersā who pressure you to join them for ā1 drinkā itās always someoneās ābirthdayā or ālast day in Galvestonā. Donāt get me wrong I had my fun but itās the same people. Same thing. Every night.
