Score Every Doctor Who TV Story: #1 (Doctor #1: Seasons 1, 2)

Post Body

Back in 2009, Doctor Who Magazine asked its readers to score every single existing TV story, dubbing it the mighty 200, and then again in 2014. Now, after spending a few days programming the bot, it's Reddit's turn as we score every single TV episode* from 1963's An Unearthly Child to 2015's The Husbands of River Song.

How does it work?

tl;dr: Bot posts stories. You send your votes to the bot. Bot posts more stories and gives results. We wrap things up at the end. Simples.

Every couple of days, I'll post up to 20 stories for you to score. These will be first split by Doctor then split by season and finally by story. These are set to match how DWM organised the stories in their survey (or by episode for those stories that aren't there and I'm not sure on).

Scores will be sent via PM to /u/PCJs_Slave_Robot and is only open for users of Reddit who have registered prior to launch of the poll and have contributed to the subreddit.

Scores will be marked between 1, for dreadful, to 10, for perfect.

Please only give a score to episode in which you have watched! If you haven't watched an episode, please give it a 0, which will mark it as unwatched. Or use the link provided to mark all episodes in the post as unwatched. Marking episodes by batch will not override already scored episodes. You do not need to fill them all in at once.

Preliminary results will be posted as we go. We'll give each poll at least 3 days to gather votes before posting the preliminary results. It is automatically determined which subreddit your score is applied to from your activity since the polls began. e.g. just towards one sub or the other or both. Please note: If you've posted on neither subreddit since polls began, it will only be considered in the "Reddit" average.

The polls will remain open until after all the stories are posted so the final results are subject to change.

Click here then click submit and the bot will soon reply with a table of all the scores you've submitted so far and a link to fill in any missing stories.

If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to let me know!

The 17 stories we're scoring today are:

  • 001: An Unearthly Child
  • 002: The Daleks
  • 003: The Edge of Destruction
  • 004: Marco Polo
  • 005: The Keys of Marinus
  • 006: The Aztecs
  • 007: The Sensorites
  • 008: The Reign of Terror
  • 009: Planet of Giants
  • 010: The Dalek Invasion of Earth
  • 011: The Rescue
  • 012: The Romans
  • 013: The Web Planet
  • 014: The Crusade
  • 015: The Space Museum
  • 016: The Chase
  • 017: The Time Meddler

Click here for a pre-formatted message to score these episodes. Simply add your scores (e.g. 001 (An Unearthly Child): 8) and hit send. If you haven't watched an episode, give it 0 or leave it blank and use the link below. Repeat to change your vote(s). You do not need to fill them all in at once.

Click here then hit send to mark all these episodes as unwatched (this will not override stories already with scores).

You should get a response within a few minutes. If you do not get a confirmation response, your scores are not counted. It may take up to several hours for the bot (i.e. it crashed or is being debugged) to respond! If you have no message by the following day, try it again.

Results in future posts, where applicable, will appear here!

*Every single TV episode does not currently include minisodes or charity specials, however we can do these and other such polls after we're done!

And now, I hand it over to the bot! Any questions, comments or issues, let me know.
