Post Body

I posted this on /r/DoctorWho. Figured I'd do the same here (especially from the low score:votes ratio...I don't even understand that!). For those on both, this is a separate poll and you should vote on both (or at least the one which you're on regularly).

So this has been attempted numerous times of late, but I wanted to give it a go, in a slightly different way. One of the biggest concerns is people voting multiple times and I intend to deal with that as best and as simply as I can (without creating a whole separate site). This is done by sending the votes to /u/PCJs_Slave_Robot and letting the script decide whether you are "worthy" or not (see restrictions).

Another concern I had was that they've been looking for stories voted the most, rather than looking for the highest rated one. Now, I'm no statistician and I don't want to find something too complicated at this stage, so I'm gonna go for somewhere in the middle that will more than likely do the trick, a preferential vote.

For each series, you'll pick your top 3 episodes and rank them as first, second, third. I'll make it 5 episodes for series 4 and 7 as I'll include the specials in there.

I'll try to make voting as simple as possible (essentially, it'll hopefully be: pick the three episodes, hit submit, then just clicking "send").

So here's the restrictions: You must be a reddit user, have registered before yesterday (i.e. 2016-02-20 00:00 UTC), have submitted or commented on this subreddit (and not shadowbanned). Pretty easy and broad, but this should prevent the vast majority of duplicate voting.

So before I code the rest of it, I just want to give it a quick test at this stage (in case I've missed anything major or there's a bug) and to gauge interest levels. I'm also interested as to whether to do episodes or stories. To vote, simply click the link then click send:

You should get a confirmation message within a minute or two. If not, then it means it's not running or busy. If it doesn't get respond within 24 hours, try again or let me know.

You can change your vote by voting again.

Thoughts? Comments? Etc.?
