[Mod] Change To How Link Flair is Displayed on the Subreddit! Yay!

Post Body

I've just updated how link flair is displayed at long last (it's been quite honestly pissing me off in the background for months now).

Now instead of having vertical images replacing thumbnails, we're back to the normal horizontal text flair. But better.

Why is this better?!?

Firstly and simply, readability is FAR more improved. No longer is the text so freaking small for long flairs. No longer is that crick in your neck gonna get ya when redditing here! Plus, there were flairs that were particularly hard to read (like the THEORY tag. Good god.) and these are much easier to read now. Oh, but I'm sorry. That spoiler warning still isn't clear enough.

Secondly, this no longer relies upon replacing thumbnails. WOOOO! This benefits both the spoilerphobes and the spoiler likers (albeit, not nearly as much).

For the spoilerphobes, If you hadn't already noticed, we've now turned off thumbnails on the subreddit. Before, if we turned it off, it removes the flair from our subreddit pages entirely (which is even worse!). Now, we still have the flair, giving you that all previous warning but no thumbnails on your non-/r/Gallifrey pages, such as the home page. This should help go some way to preventing you from being spoilt by a thumbnail (e.g. "Monster returns!", with a picture of a Cyberman). Yay! To have this, make sure your media preference is either on the default, let subreddits choose, option or the do not show links option.

For the spoiler likers, this update won't give you much more than the previously stated readability (sorry), but a little freedom as to how you see /r/Gallifrey. While our default stance is to protect spoilers, you can override this behaviour by changing your media preference to show thumbnails next to links. This now works both in and out of /r/Gallifrey.

If you wish to check or change your media preferences, go to your preferences and select the media option you wish to have.
