Hello. I have been suffering from digestive issues for the better part of six years. I was first diagnosed with Celiac disease which I have controlled through gluten elimination. But during that time I had horrible acid reflux, discovered I had a hiatal hernia and chronic gastritis. I went on like this in misery for some time and things were slowly improving. Had a CT scan which showed no issues, and had a HIDA scan that showed an ejection fraction of 8 percent.
My doctor's both were reticent to recommend surgery as I don't present with RUQ pain. I do get stabbing pains in between my shoulders when I am not on a strong antacid. Right now I am suffering badly again and am on both a PPI and an H2 blocker at night. I can't tolerate fatty foods at all (I get nausea, bloating, and gas) and am constantly uncomfortable and acidic.
My dilemma is that the surgeon got back to me today and they want to take my gallbladder out in April. But since I don't have the RUQ pain I am nervous this is going to be for nothing, or make things worse. I just would like some thoughts from people about this.
Thanks
