I used my credit card's warranty to get back $811 for my Zflip4 that powers off every time it's folded.

Just saying - we do have some recourse. I bought my phone 09/28/2022 and it started messing up and turning off every time the phone folded on like 5/20/2024. So, I was definitely out of warranty by a long time.

I have a chase card (it was only the freedom, stupid me for not putting it on my sapphire but it worked out anyway).

I had to go through Card Benefits Services. Make sure you have your receipt with proof of purchase, your credit card statement that shows it was paid, and most importantly, you'll need to go to a service center and have them perform a diagnostic.

Here's where I lucked out. I went to UbreakIFix, as they are an authorized service center for samsung. The guy put on the receipt, "the issue is with the device's logic board and is deemed unrepairable as the logic board cannot be replaced."

I submitted that as well 2 nights ago. And I just got the approval for my $811 reimbursement, and set up the automatic transfer immediately.

Fun fact, my receipt did indeed have $811 purchase on it, but I ended up getting a $250 or so trade in credit from my previous phone, so I kinda made it out on top.

That being said, I do love the flip mechanism, but it's just not reliable. I might have to go just go with a regular ol S24/Ultra moving forward, although I'm not happy about it. But the camera DOES suck on the zflip4, so maybe not all is lost.
