Galaxy S5- Micro SD card- How to install apps and get phone to see it

I put in a 32 GB Micro SD card n my phone but it tells me its out of storage, and i have to uninstall apps to get new ones installed , if i go to settings I can see the SD card but I am not sure how to enable it to be used to put apps and new downloaded content on? Help is greatly appreciated.
