Just purchased Smart IR Remote, Google Now Voice Commands not working?

So I just bought the Smart IR remote app from the playstore (worth 6.99 imo) and I love it. The only thing I can't seem to figure out is getting the google voice commands to work. I have the Google Now launcher, and if I try to speak a command, such as "Living Room, Power On" it just google searches and I end up with pictures of couches. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance!
