So I bought a used GC (2008 model) and took it apart to clean the whole thing out. I put it back together again and did a pretty good job, I think.
One thing concerning me is that I can smell something as the machine heats up. Not really a burning smell, but like the smell of hot metal. Almost like when your radiators get turned on for the first time in a while. The insulated wires are pretty close and nearly touching the hot boiler, as you can see. But I swear, that’s exactly how the wires were laid out when I first opened the machine up. How could you even lay out the wiring so it doesn’t touch the boiler? They’re too close together. Is this smell normal?
