So I've reading a lot in regards to games like FGO or the recent genshin impact that the gacha doesn't matter cause u can use free characters to clear all the content and to me this just kinda confuses me cause in pretty much every gacha I've played including FGO the characters are alot of the content of the game.

Like typically gachas function on a biweekly update schedule where they will introduce an event and a banner.some games operate on a monthly basis or a weekly basis but its much the same situation regardless. So when it comes to events in most gachas u will typically run through it the first time for like 30mins to an hour or a raid battle and thats all the content for that event. After that point u typically just grind the stage u need over and over again or a raid to clear out a shop or a rewards tier or a lotto which I mean some people might view as content I suppose but I definitely don't after the first clear unless ur engaging with it in a different way which u generally won't be unless u obtain a new character.

So the other typical form of content is the banner and the characters on it. So u pull the character and u get the content of lvling them, gearing them trying them out in different content to get a different experience and trying them out in different team comps or in games like another eden or granblue fantasy u even get character quests all of which makes up a majority of the content I get out of these games as they progress at least beyond the initial first time clear content in the game. And I'm just curious if I'm the only one that feels like that since alot of what I've been reading seems to suggest otherwise.

Like even in genshin impact once u clear the initial content similar to in other games (tho genshin does have way more intial content then most games) the content seems pretty much to be farming for mats to upgrade ur characters and to gear them through artifacts and to use them in abyss which u would get more content out of the abyss if u could use different units and different comps to interact in that mode rather then the same setup of characters week by week. And once they add events I don't see it being much different then honkai's one time clear events or a farming type of event like described above.

I'm also aware gachas add more content then just events and banners like story updates or new modes occasionally but this is more general in regards to the content that is consistently updated every update.

So yea these posts saying "the gacha isn't necessary" just idk I really disagree with and it's not cause I'm an addict for rolling (tho I am) it's cause it's a huge part of the content for me in these games and It makes me wonder if in the only one? Or why u disagree?

IMO, they(characters) are only content when i get them.

They are only worthwhile when they are 5* or whatever the highest rarity is.
