Non-grindy, short-battle gacha games.

Post Body

Just discovered this subreddit today due to looking for general reviews on Tales of Erin. And yes, now I have my doubts on ToE being my cup of tea (grindy).

To start of: I'm currently only have FFBE as my gacha games. I'd consider it not grindy because the grindy part is macro-able and I can leave the grind on my emulator and leave the computer running macro overnight. Major battle takes a lot of time on strategy & planning, and once the battle is done, you probably won't revisit it in the future. So overall, it's not grindy at all.

I am also a former player of Chain Chronicle Global. It's a shame Gumi shut the service down and I have yet to find similar gacha games to CC.

After CC Global shut down, Seven Knights had accompanied me for ~2 years. And just like how every single Korean games out there that I've played offended me, I left 7K not too long ago for being increasingly grindy (can get up to 4-6 hours grind a day) and the progression is very stagnant on long-time player.

So having said that, I'm looking for a game that :

  • Is not grindy

2 hours a day is the maximum I can allocate. If possible I can get the majority of the stuff done in 1 hour without having the feeling "Oh, I still have more energy/stamina to burn to get more of material/premium currency/etc."

  • Doesn't require my long attention of span

I don't want the battle exceed 5 minutes and where I "have" to do the battle over 30 times a day (see above: is not grindy). Basically, I can consume my stamina/energy fast enough (30 minutes per session?), close the app, then go look at it again 5~6 hours later.

  • Has great In-app purchase at lower value

I don't mind spending 7~12 USD per month, as long as it gives me a lot of convenience when playing the game. But I won't pay if the bundle goes to 20 dollars a month

  • Is not a Korean game

I know you can perceive this as a blatant generalization; But I've learned this plenty from the past experience playing KR games, be it PC, or mobile (Atlantica Online, Dragon Nest, and lastly Seven Knights)

They will be increasingly grindy as they mature. Not to mention excessively competitive in some aspects, be it PvP or PvE (i.e. they have very high ceiling to reach. People can just pour more time/ money in the game to touch that ceiling)

  • Has characters that have voice

Just like Chain Chronicle, I like the characters to say something when they execute their ultimate skill or something. This is what's missing in FFBE. You can say this what makes CC allured me : because I'm also a seiyuu ota.

  • Has fair gacha, if possible

Yeah, this is important. I don't mind slightly rough rate. It doesn't have to be great.

But as long as it's not stupid like the 7K nowadays, (where you can actually grind premium currency ad infinitum, but the rate is stupidly abysmal: 0.6% divided by ~20 characters and players have NO WAY to target the unit they want) I can live with it.

P.S. : I don't mind if the game is JP only, I can somewhat manage to read Japanese.

Thanks guys,
