Tapering from 900mg a day

Post Body

I was on 900mg a day of gabapentin for 4 months. I started tapering a week ago. My initial cut was a drop to 750mg a day for 3 days, then 650mg a day for 2 days, and the past two days I have been on 550mg a day. So far, I feel body aches, mood swings, depression waves, and some anxiety. Is this normal? Is 550mg a day still a high dose? I split 550mg 4 times throughout the day evenly. Is this a good way to dose? If I continue to drop around 100mg every 3-4 days, is that safe? Will the withdrawals get more difficult and what should I expect?

Comments

You know, I’m not sure. I think there’s a strong psychological effect to reading too much into these things. Vast majority of people taper quickly with minimal issues. Here, you’ll get the worst cases.

I’ve found the more I focus on my taper and possible withdrawal, the worse I feel.

When I am distracted and not thinking about it, symptoms seem minimal.
