Jane was in a rush to get home. It had been too long of a day where she had to deal with one inept person after another. People in the outside world didn’t understand that her time was not to be wasted. That they should be bowing before her and thanking her for gracing them with her presence. At least one person truly understands.

Jane gets out of the car and practically barges into her home. Maddie, as usual, is waiting at the door, and immediately plants a kiss on the tops of Jane’s feet as she removes her shoes.

“Fetch me a drink” Jane commands as she takes her place at her seat in the middle of the room. This seat ornately decorated and looks like a throne, a cute gag gift from Maddie long ago, but now it serves unironically as a throne. Maddie comes back with a glass of wine and gently hands it to Jane before taking her place on the ground by the ottoman where Jane had kicked up her bare feet. Dutifully, Maddie begins to massage Jane’s large feet, while planting kisses.

Starting to relax more, Jane takes a deep sip from her glass and looks up at the massive portrait hanging in the foyer. The portrait depicts an impossibly large Jane wearing a crown as a tiny Maddie bows at her feet. It exudes control, power, and domination. Anyone who looks at the portrait would immediately understand the dynamic in this house. As she often did, Jane began to ache inside as she looked at the portrait. She so badly wanted this to be a reality. She wanted everyone in the world to see her for who she truly was. Jane was willing to do anything to make this dream come true. Funny that just a year ago, Jane never would have thought she would be in this position and have these thoughts when she first met Maddie.
