“It was yet another boring day within the tower, a never ending column of brick and wood and various magical items that helped ensure its endless height would never fall. Sitting in their office at the top was altheim or otherwise known to the human souls that stay within the tower as death. Managing all humans lives that enter here, writing notes about their passing or marking what their floor is, what it contains and the level it’s at. The tower was a sort of afterlife, where the souls that dealt with magic went to after they passed, think of mages, witches, even necromancers end up here … It was unique in the sense that death had made it themselves, instead of inheriting the afterlife and the underworld which was there much earlier than altheims creation. It was a boring, and lonely job get it had to be done unless these souls would run rampant. The top of the tower was their home, a cozy and large place. A library full of every piece of human literature, a warm desk by a fire place. A luxurious bed fit for only gods, yet no one to share it with

Altheim was alone … Yes every one and a while when checking up on floors they met the souls that lived there and whatever afterlife they dreamed off, but it was only fleeting. The souls could never get attached to such a being like death, always returning to the top alone and tired. Yet the job had to be done, a being so strong yet only does what they need to. They never found it very worth it to travel to human realms, they’ve become all but a hermit now.”

Hello!! I hope you all enjoyed that little opener of mine, I was hoping to do a roleplay based off of it, either me or whoever responds would play altheim. And the other would play a creature or human who perhaps died but didn’t get a floor many becoming an assistant and possible lover to death in the end. Or maybe isn’t he mortal realms someone managed to contact them, and we can go from there. Please feel free to share any ideas you have, as I’m sure you noticed this story is somewhat vague and rough and that’s because I hope to fill in the gaps with a responder and make it more unique and fitting to our tastes.

This will definitely be heavy on world building and romance, but smut will be there to, it’s just always so much better with some buildup and tension, I have a reference for athleim who is a bit monstrous so If you're only looking for a handsome human I would suggest ignoring this as they do have bones showing and clearly aren’t human! I don’t have one for the other character and I leave that entirely up to you.

I roleplay in first person and present tense, but it’s never hard to make third person work alongside it, I roleplay only on Reddit and use either chat or message, but I have a preference for chat.
