The Premise

The year is 1892.

Oak Ridge University, an up an coming college on the west coast of the US, has just heard back from their well-funded expedition in the Middle East. The world renowned Professor Henwick has been leading an archeological dig site for several months now. His most recent shipment contained several dozen relics that were excavated from the ruins, along with a hastily written letter with explicit instructions to not, under any circumstances, open Box #5.

The letter rambles on and on about how it's not safe for anyone to be around, and that they even "lost" over a dozen locals to the strange artifact he's sealed in the box. He doesn’t elaborate any further, and finishes the letter stating he will deal with the artifact personally when he returns in a few months.

Unfortunately, the box is misplaced over the following weeks. The crate and the artifact within are accidentally included in a shipment of supplies to the universities art department, of all places. There, an unsuspecting young woman begins unpacking the supplies while humming a soft tune to herself late in the evening.

And when she opens up the crate from overseas, she sees the artifact.

A red, crystalline figurine, vaguely feminine in its proportions. Roughly a foot in height, and it seems to glow with an inner light, somehow simultaneously comforting and eerie all at once. She reaches out, her fingers brushing against the smooth red object, and she feels the slightest sense that she is being watched.

Unbeknownst to any but the absent professor, housed within the crystalline artifact is the spirit of a succubus, an ancient shapeshifter who was imprisoned within several millennia ago. The demonic being within shudders in delight as it feels the touch of the unsuspecting woman. The succubus practically purrs in anticipation, preparing to once again seek out a host for the second time in only a few months. She reaches out with her mind, and begins to whisper beautiful lies…

What Do I Mean By Co-GM?: Basically, we both control all characters. I don't want this to be the "traditional roleplay" where we have our own separate characters and take turns doing various scandalous things to each other. Instead, we'll write this story together. We still take turns of course, ideally replying to each other off and on throughout the week, roughly 3 or 4 times a day based on our availability.

Why do I want to take this approach? Because it usually results in a better story, with pacing that actually works. Ask yourself, how often do we write up a lengthy reply while RPing and we have to hold ourselves back, allowing time for our partner to respond to the multiple actions and bits of dialogue. I know it's not typical of most RP posts you see on here, but I hope you'll give it a chance.

Additional Story Details: While this story of corruption and transformations will start with just one character, I'd like to see it spread and take over the entire university. I am open to making some changes to the prompt, within reason. The direction we take things with the succubus transformations is up to us to decide. I am fine going full demonic, or keeping things light. I do have some pictures we can reference as well.
