Post Body

"I feel so light... almost like I'm floating but I can't breathe... oh.... right I'm sinking in the water after all".

I didn't have much to live for, no family, no friends, the only thing that gave me joy was traveling, so I set out to sail around the world on a merchant ship.

Everything was going great, I had almost found a purpose for living, in fact in a place where we often stopped to stock up there was an inn where a waitress worked who I had fallen in love, every time I went she was always very sweet to me, I know it seems stupid but I fell in love with her little by little.

I know that she also reciprocated the feeling, a colleague of mine told me this when he returned from the expedition, so I finally decided to confess my feelings now that I was back from her.

"It's true when you're happy.... the world falls apart".

There was a storm, one of those really scary ones, I'm not sure what happened exactly but the whole ship was sinking completely I was helping to unbuckle the lifeboats when the mainmast of the ship hit me full on, I was thrown off the ship I don't even know if it only caught me or not I only know one thing I had fallen into the sea and my legs were broken, I was ending up at the bottom of the sea without even being able to do anything about it, my mind was fading my time had come right there I thought.

When I woke up I saw an unknown ceiling that I had never seen before, "I'm alive" I thought, I was about to get up when I saw my legs completely bandaged with strange bandages that were very resistant and slimy to the touch , there was no doubt about it, I couldn't get up from there.

I looked around, there was no one in the little house where I was, maybe they had left me alone knowing that I couldn't even get up, there was no danger that I would go around snooping around, after all, the only thing to do was to think back to what had happened to me: the storm of the lifeboats, the mainmast that hit me and then... "That's right, I was drowning, I was definitely going down, who could have saved me, I it was too deep to have been saved by one of my companions, especially during that absurd storm", while I was there thinking I didn't realize that someone had come in and I couldn't believe my eyes, it wasn't a human being but something that looked like it, my heart kept beating, I was too scared of the situation.

"Oh dear you woke up don't worry you are in good hands I visited you personally, I know it will seem absurd to you but you are at the bottom of the ocean I brought you here to my village, I was swimming to get some specific algae and I found a body that was drowning I apologize I thought of leaving you there for a moment I didn't do it out of malice but our village must always be hidden from other forms of life but once I saw your face you seemed like you had a difficult life and so I broke the rules of the village".

I don't understand much but I ask her what exactly she was and she replied that she was a Melusina, an amphibious creature. She and the others in her village had always lived there on the ocean floor avoiding relationships with other life forms. She knew my language simply because they attempted relationships with humans a few times but with little success. The only good thing those meetings brought was the knowledge of our language.

She told me that they were called sirens and now I understand certain legends that I sometimes heard while sailing around the world.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart, without you I would have already died and become food for the fish, you even treated me and I was scared of your appearance, I apologize lady" I try to apologize for my behavior by giving her a bow "If I have caused you any problems with your village tell me if I can do something whatever I will apologize to everyone if I have to I don't want you to get into trouble because of me".

She smiled kindly at me and said "Don't worry about that, I've already sorted it out with the village elders... as long as you behave they won't do anything to you and they won't throw you out of the village and let you drown eheh".

I looked at her a little scared of the possible scenario;"I want to leave, there's someone I want to see again."

".....For now let's think about healing okay let me pamper you a little" I wouldn't have told him right away that he was destined to stay here with me forever but for now I'll make him dependent on me, maybe he won't even want to leave the village after he gets better hehe.

Post scrip:

If you've come this far, thank you very much for reading, I know the Melusines thanks to Genshin impact, I know that they are creatures of European mythology and that they are similar to fairies/mermaids.

Usually when I see an image that moves me I write the story around it so I don't take the behaviors they have in the game same thing I wanted to say in the MH one but at least here I know the game well.

If you are still reading wow thanks again this story I had thought of it as the character who takes care of the other developing feelings little by little but who knows if the protagonist will remain fixed on his principles of wanting to leave, oh well.

See you in the next story.
