When my girlfriend sold her house earlier this yearand couldn't take her grandmother's piano. A few days later I drove by and saw it in a dumpster in the rain. I asked the new owners if I could take the keys and the front panel, and they agreed that I could.

I need some advice as to the proper way to remove the rain damaged stain from the panel in order to refinish it to a deep walnut.

I would also like some advice as to how to attach the keys to the bottom of the panel and to hear some opinions as to what layout looks best.

She doesn't know I did this and I would like to surprise her this Christmas.
