Did you know who the Phyrexians are? Part one. Nerd fact of the day: Day 4
Post Body

In the vast planes of Magic: The Gathering, a popular trading card game, there is much to learn within the arts and lore of Magic's tens of thousands of cards. The Phyrexians are a race of metallic people who have been corrupted by a glistening oil. They were first created on a plane named Phyrexia, a world of metal and machine. A man known to be a close to the might of a god who went by the name of Yawgmoth discovered the world. He recreated civilization, becoming well known for being able to cure the worst diseases, ones that he had created. He waged war on dominaria, a nearby plane, using the phyrexian people he had corrupted with his oil. In the finale of the war, Urza sent the legendary ship Wheaterlight with an ultimate weapon, destroying Phyrexian and the last of it's people... or so they thought. Later, the Planeswalker Karn, a construct and scion to Urza's legacy, created a plane of his own, a world made of metal for those made of metal, a world he named Argentum. Karn had the last bit of Midnight oil in existence, and unknowingly corrupting his paradise. The Memnarch, a golem who was the first to be corrupted went mad, dragging people and other life from hundreds of other planes. This plane, now renamed Mirrodin, had been populated by many peoples. over time, as the populace of the world grew, and after the time of the mad golem, the Phyrexian oil grew, and out of it came a new breed of Phyrexian.

This is part one of two ;) stay tuned for part two: the story of New Phyrexia and recent events surrounding thesse metallic crusaders.
