How do you guys store your camera?

Hello, I just wanna know how do you guys store your cameras? To give you more details I am storing a XT5 with a couple lenses the area location is Los Angeles . However I’ve been hearing a lot of different things. I was using a hard case, but I’ve told it’s not a good idea and then I had somebody tell me that using a hard case is a great idea what your guys standpoint I have two different locations I can put my gear in drawer or a hard case!
