My main camera is (was?) a Sony A7IV. I still have it but ever since getting my X-T30ii I have barely touched the Sony.
Almost every photo I took with the Sony just felt "off" in the camera color-wise. Every photo just felt so sanitized and sterile, the colors were extremely accurate almost to a boring level, the photos were always TACK sharp and commercial looking.
I found that whenever I took a photo on the Sony, my first thought was "this will probably look really good after editing".
Even when I was shooting portraits for a client (whether time for photos or paid), whenever I took a few shots and went to show them, the first thing I'd say is "it's going to look a lot better after edits"
I hated that feeling.
Now, all the above I mentioned are all huge pluses for someone doing commercial photography for a living but I rarely make money from my photography and for me it's more of a side-hustle if a job ever comes up every few months or so.
Now with the Fuji camera, as soon as I take the shot, I basically see the finished or near finished product because of the film simulations. The colors are beautiful straight out of the camera and it just MAKES me want to take more photos and experiment with different settings, lighting, etc in a way the Sony really didn't tbh
I'm not yet sure if I will be selling my Sony kit, but at the moment I'm definitely leaning more towards selling than not.
Has anyone else gone through this process?
