Living in USA without a driver license is so disabling and frustrating.

Post Body

I wish the planning authorities could build proper paths cycling lanes and transit. I spend considerable time in suburbs as that is where I work and a commute that is a 1 hour round trip to drive takes me 5 hours by a combination of trains but and walking. I deliberately chose to live in a pedestrian friendly area so I can do shopping and leisure activities but getting around outside of this area like to work is so difficult. Not being able to drive isn’t a voluntary decision when I was in my early 20s I was told that I couldn’t get a driving licence because I have epilepsy. This wasn’t a problem at the time since I was living in Stockholm a normal and good city. I have also previously lived in London Dublin and Amsterdam all without any problems. Now in America getting around is so hard. I can’t get to work before midday because of when the first train leaves. I’m used to being able to walk down to the station and get on within 10 minutes even on a Sunday morning.
