Some context: I first came out as ftm to my parents nearly a year ago and they we’re generally supportive, if a bit slow to adjust. I finally came out to my extended family a little over a month ago and got mostly supportive comments.
In the year my parents have known I’m trans they’ve never used my given name. Just today I got a package from my dad with my chosen name on the shipping address (never even mentioned to him I’d prefer that). After a bad shift at work I really needed the relief that brought me. Literally started crying when I realized, and I haven’t cried in a long time. Just thought I’d share something a little uplifting, especially for those that have friends of family that might be struggling to use your chosen name or pronouns. Sometimes it can take some time for people to adjust, but if they care about you they’ll make that adjustment.
