It's currently being looked into by my endo and my GP; Mostly my endo.
But I just want to know if anything similar has ever happened to anyone else:
My meds (Sustanon, which I love and I've never had any problems with) seems to no longer be suppressing my menses, and this is now my 4th medication adjustment this year. But I'm not sure this is actually the root of the problem, since Sustanon has been great for me, and adjustments have been needed in the past and have been effective-- But aren't now.
My prior bloods were all OK, no issues, levels fine. But menses are now happening, after total stoppage for the past 6 years.
Dosage/injection schedule adjusted, had an ultrasound and nothing looked abnormal, literally no sign as to why this is happening (yet).
No changes to diet or lifestyle. I've needed my Ventolin for my asthma a little more recently, but other than that, no medication changes, and no new medications. Only other thing I take is ADHD medicine (Concerta). No weight changes, either gain or loss.
Some itching/irritation (but no dryness or other problems) around genitals has been persistent for a couple months, but my GP is aware and this is also being monitored. May or may not be related, unsure as of now.
I just had another round of bloods drawn last week (results not back yet), but sadly, my period started again last night-- Bizarre and upsetting. :(
And very painful, as I have problems with that whole system of my body and always have; Menses gives me debilitating pain. No endometriosis, but history of ovarian cysts, not PCOS though.
My endo has suggested I may need to add Progesterone to my treatment, but I've had a terrible reaction to Depo Provera in the past (which is the injection, not oral progesterone), so I was just wondering...
Because I feel awful and this is really weird considering 6 years with no menses and suddenly a consistent return despite no other issues with my HRT at all:
Has anyone on HRT long term (5 years) had something like this happen?
Has anyone taken Progesterone alongside T before, and if so, how did it go for you?
I'm not looking for medical advice or anything, I just sort of want to know if I'm totally alone in experiencing this or not, and I would be interested to hear if anyone's been on Progesterone before since I can't seem to find any resources that talk about it in regards to trans people taking it, or only trans femme people and not trans masc people.
I don't know any other trans men or trans masc people, so I'm at a loss.
Any comments would be much appreciated!
This is really stressing me out and at the moment I'm in a lot of pain which I thought I would never have to experience again (within reason), so I'm not able to think super clearly-- Apologies if any of this is incoherent.
