Hope I used the right flair ~ So my older brother is very cis, very straight, and a real good guy. One of his exes came out as nonbinary, and the two of them met up recently. His ex described the experience of being able to tell when someone doesn't think of you as the gender you are, even if they use the right pronouns. Honestly I think the comment was kind of directed at him lol, to say like 'we're having coffee right now and I have affection for you but this isn't going anywhere, cuz you're so, so straight'
Anyway, I was like yeah, I can totally tell when someone thinks of me as transmasc, versus when someone just knows how to use pronouns properly. For example, for a long time, someone in my life struggled to get my pronouns right, but I could tell that they no longer thought of me as a girl, so it almost didn't bother me so much.
He just asked how I can tell, and now I'm curious, too, because I couldn't come up with a really satisfying answer for either of us. The most I could say was "It's just vibes." Do you guys know what I'm talking about? Do you know how to explain it?? Do you think this is even a real thing, or ??
